I realised recently that I have talked about MADE’s products in numerous posts before and yet, for some unknown reason, I’ve never dedicated a post to their wares. Really, that’s a shortcoming on my own part because if you have been hiding under a rock somewhere and weren’t aware of just how much amazing design they have, I have done you a disservice. So I’m going to rectify that in today’s post.

The Tilia Quilted Kingsize Bed in Dust Pink from MADE

You may know already that the in my recent bedroom makeover post (which many of you loved so HUGE thank you for that), MADE provided that beautiful bed for my makeover, making it possible for me to create a unique space that I absolutely love. It was such an intrinsic part of that design and the room just would have been so much less without it and so I was thrilled to partner with them.

But it’s not just the aesthetics of the bed that appealed to me (although admittedly, that tends to be my focus a lot of the time – I’m a very visual person!), the actual build of the bed was fantastic and I was incredibly impressed by the quality, just as I have in the past with other pieces from them that I have in my home.

In fact, my very first purchase with MADE was the Yoko sofabed which you might remember from our Man Cave. It was originally purchased more than 5 1/2 years ago. When we sold our home, the new owners wanted to keep it (it was perfectly compact for the space!) and so we left it for them. Amazingly enough for the price, it was still going strong all those years later. That’s how long I’ve loved this brand!

home office design in white pink green and gold

My ‘fantasy office space’ included the Vernay Console Desk, Vera Metal Table Lamp, Normos Stationary Set, Beaumont Tapered Vase in Gold, Badden Storage Pots, Golden Perspective Wall Art from MADE

And yes, there have been plenty of other pieces I’ve both purchased and received from MADE. Remember my ‘fantasy office space’ that I created? So much of what you saw was carefully chosen from their vast selection for the collaboration, which spans the entire home sphere. They carry everything from lighting to cushions, art and storage, seating to bedding, serveware to towels and even leisure products like travel bags and bicycles (yes really!).

In my living room, the Margo accent chair in Pewter, the Beaumont Small Tapered Vase in gold and the Austin floor lamp in Brass, all by MADE. The lamp and chair I purchased myself; the vase was part of the ‘fantasy office’ collaboration above.

And let me tell you, it’s hard to narrow down your choices when it comes to their selection because there are just so many amazing products on their site. They currently have almost 100 external design collaborators large and small that they work with. This allows them to bring great design to everyone at incredibly affordable prices whilst still adhering to strict ethical controls including a zero-tolerance approach to any kind of exploitation throughout their supply chain worldwide.

And, yes, the price points are incredible. I have used their products in a myriad of design mood boards – from my ‘Design for the Modern Man’ to my glam rooms on 3 different budgets – MADE’s products fit in seamlessly from bargain basics to beautiful mid-range pieces that rival many of the products you’ll find on luxury design websites.

The Tilia bed was one such collaboration with design duo Jack Smith and Gemma Matthias (Smith Matthias) who met whilst studying Furniture Design together in Sheffield. They opened their design studio in 2012 where they concentrate on “thoughtful and quietly confident” designs that act as a “subtle backdrop to life; simple, accessible pleasures that are a balance of quality and affordability”. Made’s access to Smith Matthias and so many other design studios shows their commitment to bringing great design to the masses – whether that’s a piece of furniture or a beautiful hand-crafted plate – more achievable than ever.

A few current favourites from MADE

I thought I’d share just a very small sample of some of the gorgeous pieces currently on their website. Let me tell you – narrowing this down to just a handful of favourites was HARD. I almost always find items that I love as new products and designs are released all the time.
