Apologies for the late post!  I have been off work all week which has been absolutely fabulous, however, a couple of drinks turned into a LOT of drinks yesterday with two of my mates in Manchester’s Gay Village.  Hmmm well, let’s just say this girl had a pretty crummy hangover today, assisted only with the preparation and subsequent demolishment of home made macaroni and cheese, a lot of cranberry juice and some Haribo.  So there’s my excuse.

See how blurry this picture is? Well, it matches my memories of the night as well.  Good times.

Anyway, as payment for my sins, I thought I’d share with you a few things that I’ve oooh’d and ahhh’d over this week!

First Pretty Thing:

Unless you are have been hiding under the proverbial rock, you will have seen the new shots of Bailey Quin McCarthy’s stunning Texas home as shown on Design Sponge and her own blog, Peppermint Bliss.

I know, seriously, I just want to shoot myself in the face.  “Pretty on the Cheap”?  Well, probably not considering they pretty much gutted the property and redecorated it in 6 months but they did re-use much of what they took with them from their Chicago home and it is absolutely most certainly Swoon Worthy.

And there is no denying that this girl has got great taste, especially considering she’s just a young’un!  I love how colourful and bright and shiny everything is.

There are a million pictures but I’m sure you’ve seen them already and if you haven’t, well go on to Design Sponge or Peppermint Bliss and have a gaze at all the yumminess.   The bathrooms are just all kinds of wonderful as well.

Second Pretty Thing:

I’ve found the most glorious fabric that I’ve decided I must use somewhere.  I’m thinking possibly in the living room somewhere on the chairs (when I finally get them) or a bench (if I get one) or or or I don’t know but I do know I love it with a love that verges on my Chiang Mai Dragon love affair.

I told you it was serious.

It’s Manuel Canovas Dara fabric in the Turquoise colourway.   Oh yes, a nod to the Far East but I know this would look gorgeous combined with so many styles.  Yum yum.  And I just love the little bright pink bauble trim as shown in the image above.

I have no idea of the cost (yes, I am scared) but at least they do sell it in the UK (hurrah!) and there’s at least 2 suppliers nearby that carry it.  So I’m going to have to look into it at some time soon.

Third Pretty Thing:

These amazing DIY painted rugs by Holly of Adventures of an (Almost) 40 Year Old Intern which I discovered via Pinterest.

I mean, there are IKEA hacks… and then there are THESE kinds of Ikea hacks.  I’m amazed at her taping ability, her vision and her patience!

I love this yellow rug, it’s just amazing.  And yes, all of this with TAPE.  My mind boggles.

And one last one, this gorgeous watermelon rug.  So gorgeous and juicy isn’t it?!  I love that colour.

So those are my Pretty Things as discovered on the Interwebs this week!  Have you found anything that blew your proverbial socks off?  Done any mid-week drinking?  Do share while I just go get in some more cranberry juice.
