This time of year is always a flurry of new season goodies for retailers and I was quite impressed with the amount of colour and fun in the latest Habitat SS14 range. It was the ceramics and tableware that particularly caught my eye with bold colours and organic shapes.
I thought I’d share some of my favourite pieces for my buying guide today. I admit that a lot of British design seems to fall in the side of neutrals – so many greys and beiges in everything! So when I see the British High Street retailer producing colour and texture and vibrancy, it makes me feel like there’s hope for getting our fair nation out of the dull drums and into some brights!

I like the teal/black vase! very moody. I think Habitat are upping their game a bit. Less vanilla and more interesting. Always good to see!
I like the black and white stripes plus colour combo jars- like a classic Breton top paired with some colourful jeans, only in ceramic form. xxx
