Well, on Saturday, the 4th of June, we will celebrate one full year of living in this lovely house.  When we first moved in, we were seriously scared we’d done the wrong thing.  The house – which had been presented at the viewing as a lovely, well-cared for space – once emptied, revealed there was an awful lot of shoddy DIY done, ripped up carpets, sticking door handles, dodgy paint work, etc etc etc…

And yet, we very quickly realised there was just something about the house that was completely and utterly RIGHT for us.  I’ve loved our year here and little by little turning it into something that reflects both W and I.  It’s no longer just a house.  It’s now a home.  And you know what they say, home is where the heart is.  And I will speak for both of us when I say our heart truly is right here.  (your bucket, ma’am?)

Cheesy sentiment aside, a year on and honestly, we’re nowhere near complete.  I reckon it’ll be at LEAST a couple more years before we can even say that we’re CLOSE to being ‘finished’.  And then of course, as tastes change, as styles come and go, a house – especially when you are as design obsessed as we are (which is exactly why I love you) – is never really truly FINISHED.  I mean, what fun would that be?

The biggest thing we’ve realised is just how much potential this place has.  We recognised it as soon as we stepped in the door.

And a year on, I think it’s about time we showed you around, finished or not.  A lot of the house you’ve seen before but there’s a few bits you may not have…

You’ll see from my ever-so-helpful illustration above that there’s a new page up there under the Swoon Worthy header called ‘House Tour’.  It’s basically a room-by-room blow of before and afters with links to almost every single thing we’ve done.  So if you are wondering where the little table with the baskets in the lounge came from…

Or if you are wondering about the subtle chevron stripes that were painted on shelves I store my shoes on…

Or you want to see the latest progress on the kitchen (I’ll be sharing this in more detail soon)…

Now you know where to click for it all.

Of course, I will still be sharing things chronologically as we do them in the blog but all our past projects that you may have missed are covered and I will do my best to update the page as often as possible too!

In the meantime, go on and click that link above, kick off your shoes, grab a cuppa and make yourself at home.
