Boring Post Alert:  I do realise this is not going to be a terribly interesting post to all but as I like to catalogue all the changes we make on the house, I figured this deserved a mention.  And plus, it gave me a huge sense of satisfaction after I completed it.  So that’s gotta count for something.

While the sun was shining, I thought I’d take advantage and get one more small thing crossed off my to-do list.

Senna says, “Nevermind the odd jobs, where’s my food?!”
(By the way, that’s not dirt on the window, it’s the reflection, honest!)

The brickwork at the back of the house was painted a creamy white when we moved in but the previous owners hadn’t done the neatest job of it, if I’m honest.  Otherwise, the paint was tired and a bit crudy and it really just needed a refresh.

Here’s what it looked like after I taped it off but before I got my paintbrush on it.  Note the very sexy black wires up to the light switch and the one on the left to the satellite dish.  Mmm-mmm lovely!

As well as the rather terrible paint job – straight lines?  Who needs straight lines?? (Oh well, gee, I do thankyouverymuch.) – the paint was just a horrible dirty colour which is hard to see in these pics but trust me… it wasn’t nice.

I decided to raise the line of the paint up another brick just to get rid of the unevenness of the paint job.

Excuse the laundry basket in the kitchen.  I was multi-tasking dammit.

And so, after a fresh coat of brilliant white masonry paint, a new hanging basket and some potted violas, it’s looking decidedly cleaner and fresher.

Note the nice clean line of the paint now! Ahhh.

My OCD is back in check.  Plus, the wires at least blend in a bit now.

On the big job list for the summer?  We’re going to be refinishing and extending the deck!  We also need a serious dose of outdoor furniture because most of ours needs replacing now.  Anyway, I’ll be sharing our progress as we go so stay tuned for that.

And totally off the beaten track here, but have you seen the new issue of Lonny?  It’s all OVER the blogosphere but honest to god, there’s gorgeousness in spades this issue and they’ve outdone themselves.  Definitely the best one yet.  If you haven’t already, what are you waiting for?

Oh and one more thing..  Tomorrow I’ll be letting you know how you can get 25% off gorgeous cushions from Swoon Worthy Homewares!  Super awesome amazeballs!!!*

*One of my English GBFFs (that’s gay best friend forever) has adopted that expression as his own, complete with corny American accent just for emphasis.  I thought I would use it in his honour.  Mark, that one is for you.
