I’m seeing a little micro trend in interiors popping up here and there and I have to say, I love it.  Perhaps it’s because winter has been so grim and the sun hasn’t been shining as much as I’d like, I need a bit of a reminder that warmer days are ahead… or that there are places in this world that aren’t as cold and miserable as England at this time of year!

Case in point… The pictures below (found on Sarah Gilbane Interiors) are from the Lyford Cay Club, designed by Tom Sheerer for the elite social community in Nassau, Bahamas, where I’m sure the sun is probably shining and palm trees swaying as I type.

Oh yes, crazy OTT Hollywood Glam right there, no? While you may not want to follow Tom’s lead in creating something quite so ostentatious in your own home, certain elements of this style can really bring a room to the next level.

My buying guide today gives a little reminder that warmer days are indeed ahead and will hopefully transport you to exotic climates where palm trees and pineapples are as common as the rain and cloud cover is here – two motifs you often see in Hollywood Regency style.

I purchased the little glass pineapple (#9) with the gold top recently and it’s proudly sat in my living room which I’ll hopefully be showing you soon.  The Cole & Son wallpaper (#2) has been a favourite for quite some time – I have no idea where I’d use it, mind you, but I love it all the same.  Perhaps I need to just deck out a chair in that amazing House of Hackney Palmeral fabric (#4) to satisfy my tropical cravings.

So tell me, has the sun been shining where you are?  And if so, can you send some our way please?  I’m getting a little desperate here.

Don’t miss a thing!
