I don't have pretty pictures of the dressing room at this point because it's not quite at the stage I'm ready to share. It's not that I'm waiting for it to be fully complete but I just want to finish putting up the lining paper - we're currently waiting for plaster to dry before we can do that. Fingers crossed that all happens next week and then I can share the stage it's at currently. It'll still be a far cry from being 'done' but the woodchip wallpaper has been obliterated and it is looking SO MUCH better. And I've got pretty plans for the decor of the room so I want to share that with you too.
Anyway, that said, I've been looking for a pink chandelier for the room to tie in with the slightly altered colour scheme. I was thinking about something kind of like this as I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg and this was cute and girlie and a little bit OTT... (you'll see how it ties in soon):
However, in the course of my research, I did come across this monstrosity whilst perusing Pinterest for a pink chandelier. Not just once but MULTIPLE TIMES. People are pinning the shit out of this one.
Now, may I please please please implore the good people of Pinterest and the interwebs. I know you want to do things on the cheap. I know it's appealing to know you can create a "chandelier" out of wire plant hangers, mardi gras beads, children's necklaces and whatever else the f**k you have in your junk drawers.
But please do not make shit like this.
It's an assault on good DIY everywhere.
It doesn't have to come to this, I promise. As the post title says, 'Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.'
Now, slowly back away from the glue gun.
