Ahhh yes. Schumacher's Chiang Mai Dragon. (Isn't that the coolest chair EVER?! Its got a friggin' BUSTLE people!!!)
I've been in love with this fabric for quite some time... Ya see, it's one of the perils of being an interior design-obsessed blogger. You start seeing certain pieces over and over and after a while, it starts to sink into your subconscious. Soon, you are seeing said item EVERYWHERE, in loads of different settings, each more fabulous than the last.

Well, if I'm a trend victim, then I'm happy to hold my hands up and admit it. I'm a victim. But hell, I'm loving it so nah nah nah nah nah i'mnotlistennnnning!!!
Ohhh the colours! The pattern! The sheer madness and intricacies of it all! I'm in love with you, beautiful pattern. Well and truly in love.
I think the obsession in blogworld with Chiang Mai Dragon fabric may have started here... way back in 2007 when Domino showcased this gorgeous dining room, designed by Barrie Benson.

Oh yes, that rusty orange corner unit combo was ahead of it's time. But it's evolved beyond dining chairs and has turned into so much more...

The Chiang Mai cushion here picks up the colours in the beautiful deep teal chest of drawers and the yellow fabric on the chair behind it. That mirror is pure swoon worthy goodness as well but I'm getting distracted here.

Are you in love yet? It's definitely a love it or hate it fabric, I think but if you like chinoiserie and a nod to the Orient in your design (hello faux bamboo), it's definitely a winner.
Soon, I'll be sharing how I'm going to be incorporating some Chaing Mai Chic into my own home, after scoring a great deal on this fabric off eBay. Retailing at around £150/metre is nothing to sneeze at so getting a bargain on it made me all swoony and happy. Can't wait to share my plans!

that chaing mai is def one of those blogland fabrics, isn't it? and it's understandable since it has this ability to ignite the senses and wake up the brain.

Seriously love chaing mai....I havent quite jumped on the band wagon by putting it in my home yet, but have considered it for 2 vintage chairs I snatched up....that price tag makes my pocket book cringe.

I think my favorite of these photos is the second one, with the nailhead wingback chair and the red painted door and cabinet. My second favorite is the lone pillow in the sling chair, with the aqua chest in the background. I've considered the fabric for my living room because it's surprisingly difficult to find red, blue and black in the same fabric, but I wasn't willing to pay that much for something my husband and son will just complain about. And my living room is a bit more mod vintage, so I'm afraid the Chiang Mai would be too "fancy." :) But I love admiring it in other rooms, so I look forward to find out how you will be using it. Please tell me you're lining the wall behind your bed with it and getting that yellow nailhead headboard?
