If there was one thing I knew that I wanted in my bathroom remodel, no matter how tiny it may be, is some cool art.
I wanted something funky and different. I was already going neutrals in here and I didn’t actually want to add any real splash of colour (which may seem odd for me). I wanted it to contrast in terms of style but still look cohesive in an eclectic way.
I narrowed my criteria before I started my search: I wanted a female nude. I wanted photography. I wanted something modern and artistic. I wanted something that was a bit bad ass.
After a bit of searching and a very surprising agreement from Wayne (because I REALLY didn’t know if he’d go for this one – I mean, yes, it has boobies but still), I decided on this print by Nathan Wright from Art.com.
Controversial? Probably. (Especially as I’d posted a picture on Instagram and it was removed for not complying or containing nudity or something – pffft. Who’s a bad ass now? Ha!)
Not everyone’s cup of tea? Oh, I can guarantee that.
But there was something so crazy about it, I immediately knew it would be perfect in our little bathroom. It’s hanging above the toilet as well so the men get some kind of subliminal reminder about AIM or something (at least that’s what I’m hoping).
Anyway, I thought I’d do a little round up of cool bathrooms with awesome art today.

Yes, very cool bathrooms are only made better with very cool art, wouldn’t you agree?
What do we have left to do? Well, it’s just a couple little painting jobs, I’m waiting on a toilet roll holder from China (because could I find one I liked ANYWHERE? No, no I could not.) and tackling a rather small snag list which hopefully shouldn’t take too long and then – Y’ALL THE BATHROOM WILL BE DONE. Seriously. I’m not just making this shit up.
Anyway, what do you think of my choice? What do you think of bathrooms with a bit of funky art? What hangs in your loo? Do tell.

Those are some gorgeous bathrooms and I mean really gorgeous! That art is not controversial to me lol. Now is it controversial because of the gun or the boobs? Lol. We want to put art in the bathroom. We were thinking a huge picture of Breeze lol. But is that wierd?
Not sure if it was the violence or sex (*snark snark*) in the image that Instagram didn't like but clearly, they didn't see it as art!! lol I actually considered my cats but thought that might REALLY push me over the edge to Crazy Cat Lady territory – Ha!! xxx
Girl, I feel you. I have a framed print of a pheasant that is wearing a pearl necklace and a bitchy smirk hanging in my bathroom. Her name is Gertrude and I make no apologies. Love it! xx

You, lady, are a badass. <br /><br />Question: how did you hang it on the tile? Our bathroom is floor-to-ceiling hideous beige tiles and I'd love to hang some art to cover it up a bit, but didn't think this magic was possible…
Simply use a small drill bit (along with a rawlplug) that's made specifically for tiles – it won't break them ;) x
Another tip: Apply some sticky tape in an 'x' shape onto the tiles (where you want the hole) before drilling, that also helps to prevent any breakage :-)
Another idea is a 3M Command hook or velcro. Many people swear by those. You'd just need one appropriate for the weight of the art.
Oh it's totally my cup of tea! Love it! Get ready to get reported on Pinterest too though. I have this one post and I got hidden several times already. So annoying!
BAHAHAHAAAA… Sorry, you've just managed to bring out the 12-year-old in my by saying "it has boobies", that just made me spit out my G&T with laughter! Anyway, I love it! Oh for fuck sake … Instagram, it's ART. Just this morning I saw a picture on Instgram of a man wearing a woman as a moustache, if you get my meaning. <br /><br />Your new bathroom art has serious balls. I adore it. And to anyone who says they're offended by it, tell them you're visually offended by their cheap, generic, bland, cookie-cutter decor. Or just point them in my direction.

You know I don't fear in-your-face bathroom art. I did hang a big framed photo of a buffalo head above my powder room toilet! Of course, yours does have that boobs + gun controversiality (is that a word?) about it. I couldn't get away with anything that racy at my house because I have super-conservative relatives that visit, so I will live vicariously through you instead!
