Well, my lovelies, it’s been another weekend of work in our back garden and we’re one step closer to making it pretty damn habitable.

Well, with temperatures hovering around 20 degrees C (that’s almost 70 degrees F) and gorgeously sunny ALL WEEKEND, it would have been rude not to be out there soaking up every single delicious ray.

Ya know, we’ve had plans almost every single weekend since the new year up to 2 weekends ago and in the last two weekends, I’m sure we’ve gotten more done than we have in the last 4 months.  Amazing what you can do when you don’t have any plans to be out of the house.  I think we all need weekends like this, don’t you?

Burst of colour!  Oooh Spring makes me happy!

Of course, there were more trips to Homebase and B&Q and more than enough money parted with… its all kind of snowballed, this idea of a little space in the back of the garden, both practical and dare-I-dream pretty… but at least both W & I have run with it, realising that with a bit of DIY, we can make the garden our own.

The sad part, however, is that I can’t show you the full reveal just yet.  I know, I know, it’s just the way these things go because it’s not entirely finished just yet.  I really hoped that I would be able to show you everything, all dolled up and looking all sexy but yeah, it’s not quite to dolled-up sexy status just yet.

What I will show you however is a couple of sneak peaks and share a little bit of what we have done…

The most exciting thing (well, to me anyway) is that we’ve decided to create a wee little patio area in the neglected space at the very back of the garden.

There was quite a lot of this kind of action going on as well… mixing mortar.  Oh yeah, we know how to party here at Swoon Worthy.

We levelled the area and put down sand…

And now we’ve got a fabulous little area that we can hang out on…  Well, once the paving stones set completely.  It takes about 3 days before we can actually put things down on them which is one more reason I can show you the full reveal just yet.

But I did manage to score this cute little bistro set from Habitat for £30 from eBay which I’m picking up this evening after work!  I love the cute orange colour – Tangerine Tango baby oh yeah!

And while W built up our little patio and in between eBay bids… I did a LOT of planting…

There was Heather…

Some Viola…

And Sweet William which will at some point burst into pretty pretty blooms…

And of course, a few pretty potted plants…

The planters match the shed perfectly now which makes my little OCD brain burst with happiness.

Oh yeah!  That’s something.  I also painted the shed…

And added some hardware…

And W built up the little wall as well….

And then, when we were all finished on Sunday afternoon, we had more than just a couple of these (hick) in the remaining sunshine…

What did you get up to this weekend?  Was the sun shining where you were?
